MUMBAI: Suvo Chakraborty has played roles in TV shows ‘Mangal Chandi’ and ‘Manasa’. He threatened to end his life on Facebook LIVE after not having any work for a year. The incident left his friends shocked and they informed the police, who rushed to Shubho’s residence. Police officials said that the actor is safe and sound.

A policeman said, “Yesterday night we got calls from a Facebook user about the incident and rushed to help. He is safe. We spoke with Shubho’s sister too.”

On Tuesday night, the actor started a LIVE conversation on Facebook and spoke about his struggle. He shared that after August 2020, he didn’t have much projects. Though the audience and makers praised his work, it didn’t help him professionally. He also lost his father a few months back.

Suddenly, he wrote ‘I quit’ and threatened to end his life by consuming sleeping pills. Soon, Suvo ended Facebook LIVE as well. It pushed the panic button for many users who were watching him LIVE. They informed the police immediately. Last year during lockdown, ‘Mangal Chandi’ was pulled off by the channel airing the show.

A number of artists and technicians have been facing financial issues due to lockdown.
