MUMBAI: It’s not a piece of cake to shoot for a daily soap. Actors are required to shoot 12–14 hours per day, especially if they are playing lead roles. The protagonists must shoot even if they are ill because they are needed in most of the scenes. In many cases, actors even carry on filming the episodes despite their injuries. Deepika Singh had a similar experience.

While filming the television show Mangal Lakshmi, Deepika Singh suffered an injury. While filming a crucial scene for her Colors television show, a large plywood board fell on the well-known TV personality, injuring her back.

Deepika injured her upper back when she was filming a dream sequence on Wednesday (June 19). As she shot for the scene in MUmbai's Filmcity, a big plywood board fell on her due to the heavy wind. According to a report in the popular news portal, the Diya Aur Baati Hum actress screamed in pain and her co-star Naman immediately rushed to help. Despite the pain, the actress continued the shoot but stopped as the swelling in her back worsened, the report added.

From the neighboring studio where a dance show was being filmed, the makers arranged for an ice pack. Deepika Singh shot as many scenes as she could after using the ice pack. However, when the pain got too much, she had to leave the set. When she had shot as many scenes as she could, she went home.

The extreme heat during the Mangal Lakshmi filming caused the actress to develop a blood clot in her eye.

She continued filming even after suffering a blood clot due to the lack of an episode bank and the need to complete a crucial wedding scene.

She must be present in every scene because she plays the lead in Mangal Lakshmi. As a responsible professional, she took the prescribed eye drops and carried on with the shoot. Deepika Singh is best known for playing Sandhya in Diya Aur Baati Hum made a comeback to the small screen with Mangal Lakshmi.

The Colors channel airs the show. We hope Deepika recovers quickly and gets well soon.
