MUMBAI: Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi is a stunt reality TV show that started in 2008 with Aksay Kumar as the host of the first season. The show has been running successfully since 16 years and is soon to be coming back with season 14 where we will get to see Rohit Shetty, who has been the host of the show for season 5 and 6 and then since season 8.

From season 1 to season13, we have seen winners like Nethra Raghuraman, Anushka Manchanda, Shabir Ahluwalia, Aarti Chhabria, Rajneesh Duggal, Aashish Chaudhary, Sidharth Shukla, Shantanu Maheshwari, Punit Pathak, Karishma Tanna, Arjun Bijlani, Tushar Kalia and Dino James. These are not simply names but contestants who fought and won against their fears, performing all their stunts and finally coming out fearless.

In the past, the show was set in various locations like Brazil, Spain Argentina Bulgaria but South Africa seems to be their favorite destination as majority of the seasons have taken place in that country. However, this time, season will take place in Romania. Tellychakkar has always kept you updated with all the names, possible and confirmed, who will or can be a part of the season 14.

While all of the names are confirmed, we have Sumona Chakravarti who will be a part of this season.

In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar, Sumona Chakravarti how Khatron Ke Khiladi came to her, breaking the typecast barrier and much more.

Were you pitched for the show this year or were you pitched even for the previous season and how did it all happen?

To this, Sumona said that she was approached for the show and though she was pitched for the show earlier, she did not have enough time for the show as it needs a lot of time. This time she got the time to do it and more importantly she wanted to wake up the adventurous side of her that has been sleeping since some time now.

We have seen you in comedy shows but did you want to break that stereotype with this show?

To this, Sumona replied saying that she wanted to break that stereotype because as an actor it is important to do a variety of work. She accepted that she was typecasted into a particular category and people forgot that she is an actor. She added that when you are working in a scripted show and you start getting calls to do stand-up comedy, that’s when you realize that things are going in a wrong direction. She mentioned how she needs to remind people that she is an actor who was part of a scripted show.

There are times when contestants have faced age-shaming and body-shaming as the stunts require a certain physicality. Given that the show you have done earlier where there was a lot of fun made on your looks, do you think you’ll be able to handle it when it happens over there?

Sumona replied to this saying that there is a writing team in every show whether it is a reality show or not, fans are not in the same profession as hers and so they will believe what’s on the screen so they will be able to see the difference as they have loved her so much in the previous show and now they will get to see a different side in Khatron Ke Khiladi 14.
