Hamari Saas Leela's extension creates confusion on the sets

Hamari Saas Leela
Neela Telefilms’ Hamari Saas Leela on Colors has been in the news for quite some time. First, speculation was that it would go off-air in September, but somehow or the other it continued, though it was shifted to the afternoon slot. Then, a few days ago, confirmation came in that its last telecast would be on 16 December. However, immediately after that announcement came another one that it had got another extension. And that it would finally end on 30 December or 6 January 2012. But once again, no one is sure whether these would be the last dates. Agrees Neela Telefilms promoter Asit Modi: “Yes, we have got an extension but I cannot confirm the date.” The lack of clarity on the show’s termination has left the cast and crew of the daily totally confused. Till they get any official communication about it from the channel or the production house, they are holding themselves back from giving any auditions for any new shows. For some of them, this may mean being without work for a while when Hamari Saas Leela finally ends. “In a way we are happy that we have got an extension. But I think somewhere down the line, these ups and downs have started affecting us psychologically,” said Aditi Sajwan aka Koyal to Tellychakkar.com. Added actor Ankit Bathla who plays Ayush: “There is a lot of confusion on the sets. But, all of us want Hamari Saas Leela to complete 250 episodes. I hope that the show gets extended till then.” Raashul Tandon who plays Sameer Parekh agreed that the show’s continuation has led to some amount of confusion, but this is all part of the game. “I will have to continue working if the show gets another extension,” he said with a shrug. Hmmm….Work is worship Raashul – especially in television, where its absence leads to a lot of insecurities. Right, Raashul?
