MUMBAI: Swades actress Gayatri Joshi and her husband who were on a vacation in Sardinia, Italy, escaped a fatal car accident when their Lamborghini nearly crashed into a Ferrari. The actress later stated, “Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here.. With God’s grace, we both are absolutely fine.”

The horrific car accident unfortunately led to the death of an elderly couple who were traveling in a ferrari. Vikas Oberoi, who was part of a Sports car enthusiasts' group, could face up to 7 years in jail if found guilty in the accident. The deadly collision took place. Gayatri made her acting debut in the 2004 film Swades after winning the Femina Miss India International in 2000. She played Geeta in the critically acclaimed Ashutosh Gowariker movie with Shah Rukh Khan. She departed the profession quickly after making her debut despite picking up a lot of prizes. She married businessman Vikas Oberoi in 2005, and they are parents to two children.
