MUMBAI: Director’s Day was celebrated on May 19, 2024, at LB Stadium, Hyderabad, where the event was attended by many popular personalities from the film industry. It was specifically in the limelight after being postponed from the original date, which was May 4.

Preparations for this day have been started since last month where the president of Telugu films Veerashankar, expressed his excitement and stated that this day needs to get similar popularity to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. The event was attended by many actors and directors and the stint of the same is going viral on the internet. The presence of megastar Allu Arjun and Nani was a major highlight of the evening.

While speaking to the audience the actor Allu Arjun expressed his excitement that Telugu films have managed to get recognition around the world. He said: “Directors are giving their best to raise the bar on Telugu cinema and it is winning appreciation all over.”

Director Day is a tribute to the birthday of the late filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao. Addressing the same, the star stated that the director contributed to the formation of Geetha Arts. Further, he appreciated many directors for being able to make it to the event despite being busy with their work.

On the other hand, Nani revealed that his initial dream was to be a director until things changed and he became an actor. Another moment from the event is going viral on social media and it features Anil Ravipudi dancing to a few songs from Venkatesh Daggubati's films.
