MUMBAI: According to documents obtained by Zapkey.com, actor Abhishek Bachchan paid Rs 15.42 crore for six apartments in the Borivali area of Mumbai. The properties are part of Oberoi Realty's Oberoi Sky City project and the six apartments total 4,894 square feet for Rs 31,498 per square foot. The sale agreement was finalised in May, according to a Money Control report.
The first apartment was purchased for Rs 3.42 crore and has a carpet area of 1,101 square feet, according to the registration documents. The cost of the second and third apartments, each measuring 252 square feet, was Rs 79 lakh. With carpet areas of 1,094 square feet and 1,101 square feet, the fourth and fifth apartments were sold for Rs 3.39 crore and Rs 3.52 crore, respectively. The cost of the sixth apartment was Rs 3.39 crore as well.
These apartments are situated on the 57th floor of a high-rise building that has been granted possession along the Western Express Highway (WEH) in Borivali East.
The same builder's Worli apartment, which Abhishek had bought in 2014 for more than Rs 41 crore, was sold in August 2021 for Rs 45.75 crore. It's interesting to note that Shahid Kapoor and Mira Kapoor own an apartment in the same building.
The Yuva star continues to live in their Juhu complex, Jalsa, with his parents, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, despite being well-known for his real estate investments.
Abhishek stated in a 2023 interview with Raj Shamani that he would rather live with his parents, stating “I get it. Society, culture, values, everything changes and adapts. In today’s fast-paced life, if you’re living in a city like Mumbai, you have very little time for family. I cannot think of not living with my parents, especially at the age at which they are now. My father’s 81, my mother’s 75.”
Following months of rumours and talk about Abhishek Bachchan starring in Shoojit Sircar's upcoming movie, the director has now officially revealed that the actor will feature in a slice-of-life movie.
