Santaan

Kushal Punjabi who plays Aditya in Star Plus’ <em> Santaan</em> has backed out from Sony’s reality show <em> Mr. and Ms. Television</em>. But the dedicated actor that he is, Kushal is shooting non-stop for <em> Santaan </em> to meet deadlines. Kushal says, “I am down with Malaria and high fever since the past five days. But I don’t want the production house and the actors to suffer because of me so I have continued to shoot. I had to back out from the reality show as one needs to invest more time and energy to it. I have to rehearse, prepare and present an act.”

Gaurav Khanna who plays the lead on Zee’s <em> Meri Doli Tere Angana</em> has exited the show. The production house, Filmtonic Entertainment is now looking for a replacement.

Kaveri aka Aanchal Diwedi has one more reason to be happy. After playing a cameo in <em>Chalti Ka Naam Gaddi</em> on Zee, the actress has entered <em> Santaan</em> on Star Plus. For the first time Aanchal is essaying an elderly role. Elaborating on her character she explains, “I’m playing a positive role of a single mother in the show. My character Purnima is a business woman who is manipulated by her daughter. I had pampered my daughter a lot and due to this she had become a spoil brat. Now the story will revolve around the things I do to fulfill my daughter’s demands.”

Remember Raghu of Zee’s <em> Jab Love Hua</em>? Sudeep Sahir is back with a new show. This time on Star Plus and he is roped in to play one of the leads in <em> Santaan</em>. He’ll be essaying the character of eldest son Kartik in the family. “I was on a break after <em> Jab… </em> went off air. I was waiting for a meaty role and <em> Santaan</em> came my way. I’m happy and satisfied,” says Sudeep.

Daljit Kaur of <em> Kulvaddhu</em> fame has bagged a new show on Star Plus. She'll be playing one of the leads in Shakuntalam's <em> Santaan</em>. Beside this, she also has a Star One's <em> Choona Hai Aasmaan</em>. "I'm playing the role of Suhana, who is very much like me. <em> Santaan</em> is a show which portrays the relation of a parent with its child. It has a strong message for the current generation" says Daljit.
