Vivek Aginohotri's latest release The Vaccine War, based on Dr. Balram Bhargava's book Going Viral: Making of Covaxin, was released in the theatres last week on Thursday, September 28. Nana Patekar portrays Bhargava, who was the Director General at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many people had cautioned filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri against casting Nana Patekar in the lead role of his film, The Vaccine War, citing concerns about Nana’s reputation. However, Nana revealed that he provided an 80 percent discount on his fees for the project and was fully invested in it.
