Yesteryears’ jubilee actress Asha Parekh had a lot to be jubilant over when on 1 October (2012) he brought in her birthday at the Sun ‘n’ Sand at a fun party that certainly belied her 70 years , as it went on till the wee hours when the Oh mere sona re actress finally turned 70. The party, says an invitee, saw one of the most impressive turn-outs in recent times. “There was a very humbling mix of the veterans like Manoj Kumar, Prem Chopra and Aruna Irani and the young brigade, Imran Khan and Kangna Ranaut were spotted having a good time.”

Asha Parekh is all set to turn 70 on 2 October (2012). She is planning a grand birthday bash at the Sun ‘n’ Sand where all her friends, well-wishers and colleagues from the film fraternity would gather to celebrate. But there’s a problem. Asha Parekh’s birthday happens to coincide with Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. And as we all know the Mahatma was anti-alcohol. In deference to the Mahatma allegiance to teetotalism the powers-that-be have declared a non-alcohol day on 2 October.

Hangal Saab was a frail man. But he had a strong heart that kept him going until the ripe old age of 94.
